Big victory parade tomorrow, passing within a few blocks from where I work.

Of course, the Patriots never make it north of Providence, Rhode Island, but now that they're champs we're willing to overlook that. At least they have to land at Logan today.

And wasn't it nice of them to copy our password for their name?

I'm really glad that they won. I was pulling for them. Something about right now and Patriots. Made me proud.

Hubby called before the game, and they were lucky enough to be able to watch it, as they had just finished for the day. They were all hoping the Pats would win too. They were going to tape it for the crew that had to leave just before kickoff.

"And wasn't it nice of them to copy our password for their name?" Well, almost our name. I doubt if Bob Kraft (Patriots' owner) will play along, so I was thinking (earlier this morning) that you should make the appropriate adjustments on this end...

It's all such a Grade B movie. I'm kinda sad that I won't be able to pull the movie from the rental store to fill in the gaps that I missed (including the last 4 minutes of the game when I managed to fall asleep).

Bledsoe and Brady are such class acts. I don't think that sports stars should be role models, so many are so inept at it. But these guys are really shining. I'm thinking the movie, which has been scripted right along this fall starting with WTC, will be told in misty retrospect on Valentine's Day 10 days from now, which happens to be washed-up Bledsoe's 30th birthday. Only I would never bother with the movie because it would be SO schmaltzy and SO predictable.

The Patriots were in the Superbowl twice before (that I remember). The first was in 1986 when they were thoroughly humiliated by the Chicago Bears. (For anyone familiar with Bob Brinker's radio program, Money Talk, it debuted that day.) The second time they did much better, but Kraft and the coach Bill "Tuna" Parcells weren't on speaking terms, and it sure looked like Parcells threw the game. This time was just right! And it served the most important function, of getting me that much closer to Spring Training!

The big parade in downtown Boston is today. Coldest day of the year so far and a nasty wind chill on top of it. Festivities outside City Hall (following the parade) will begin about 1pm. As of morning rush hour there were already testosterone victims waiting outside. With no shirts. Tight security, no backpacks or bags allowed. I figure once the ethanol wears off they'll be in trouble.

BrookS, I too am waiting with much anticipation for spring training. I have a feeling that this may be the Card's year.
