I'll be doing serious photography (wildlife) and I got a brochure from Really Right Stuff for there quick release plates and flash brackets. My question is how do I use the Really Right Stuff flash brackets with a 550EX and D30 or 1D if the Off camera Shoe Cord isn't compatible with those cameras.

I've never heard anything about the Canon Off-Camera Shoe Cord 2 being incompatible with the 550EX flash unit or D30 or 1D cameras.

David, did you hear that the Off camera Shoe Cord (original version) wasn't compatible, or the Off camera Shoe Cord 2 wasn't compatible?

The Off Camera Shoe Cord 2 in Canon's EOS System brochure shows only the 2 to be incompatible but then again the brochure didn't have the Off Camera Shoe Cord 1.

I read that the Off Camera Cord 2 was incompatible with the D30 and 1D not the 550EX.

This link from Canon USA, specificaly states that the Off Camera Shoe Cord 2 *is* compatible with the D30.
