Yes, agreed, a last minute penalty (Shearer, of course) in the last game of the season will do me nicely!

Just screamed myself hoarse at the neighbour's TV. That was a helluva game!! When was the last time a Superbowl was an actual, exciting, nail-biting game - as opposed to an "Event". I was just hoping that the Pats would beat the spread - I never imagined they would actually WIN!! This IS the year of the underdog!!!

Ciara, I thought you were only going to watch the commercials???

Does that make up for the Superbowl XX defeat vs Chicago Bears? 45-10 wasn't it?

Can't imagine the nerves of the kicker. 7 seconds left on the clock, and there's no middle ground. He's either the hero (first SB for 42 years?) or will be the answer to a trivia question in years to come. It was around 3-30am here and I was pacing the room like it was Newcastle in the cup, more nervous than him. What a man.

Imagine what that Jock must've felt like at Murrayfield then...what a sitter in the 2nd half!

Nick, I wound up watching the game because they never played long enough for me to do anything between commercials! That last 1min 30sec was probably the longest they'd gone all night without a commercial. Also the most exciting bit of American football I've ever seen. From the Rams equalizing and feeling like "Oh here we go again, typical New England area team falls at the final hurdle" to the heart-stopping drive down field to get into field goal range, to finding new religion as Vinatieri stepped up to take the kick and watching in slow motion as it went through. Then followed by my momentary disbelief and then much screaming and pointing and laughing at the pundits as they ate humble pie. Inspiring!!
