I know this is very old, and vague, but I believe there is a direct correlation between the bankruptcy filing and the y2k bug.

January 2001: Carik President Carleen Heckendorf tells Floral Management in an interview that "2000 was a difficult year for Carik" and that "it has taken a great deal longer than it should to locate and repair [Y2K] problems."

June 2001: Carik Services, Inc. files for reorganization under Chapter 11 in the District of Colorado.
