can my aiwa xd-dv290 dvd player be changed to a multi region player?IF so how?

A good place to start is www.dvd-wizards.com/darrenk. A web search on the subject might find other places. www.vcdhelp.com has a DVD player compatibility list that tells if a firmware hack exists for your player. Please be aware that most DVD players don't have firmware hacks and making your player region free in some cases requires you to actually replace the firmware chip with another one.

try dvd.reviewer.co.uk . Most dvd players are upgradeable to region free by inputting a code through the remote control.
