Why does the column CARD on SYSIBM.SYSTABLES show up as a -1 for tables that are PARTITIONED even after Runstats was done.

Is there any reason why DB2 can't use the value of CARD column on SYSIBM.SYSTABLEPART for each PARTITION and update the CARD column on SYSIBM.SYSTABLEPART with total.
