We did it again! - 30/01/2002

After we broke the deadlock against Arsenal it seems that we have found our way against the teams based in London! The 1-3 win against Tottenham maintained us at the top of the table and I am very confident we will remain there for another two match days as we are now facing Southampton and Bolton at St James Park. If we really want this result to actually be of any importance we should not lose any of the 6 points in the next two games.

100th Premier League Game! - 29/01/2002

The game against Tottenham will be a special one for me! It will be my 100th Premier League game I have played for United. I think it is a great deal to play 100 games for a team in 4 season. It is even more important if we take into consideration I missed almost all the last season due to my injury. Reaching this milestone I can only wish for the best for the team and myself and promise to all United fans that I will be as dedicated in the future as I was these 100 games.

As far as the Tottenham game is concerned it is a great challenge for us. With Dyer and Speed missing we will probably have problem in the midfield. It is a great pity that they are not available to play as this is one of the remaining key games and their presence in the squad would had surely make an impact. However I sure that the players that Bobby Robson will call to replace them will do their best. When a team is in great shape injuries are the last thing that you want to have as they can ruin the team's plans. Still, whatever the circumstances, we need the points and will certainly try for the best.

As far as the game is concerned I was a bit worried because Dyer and Speed were not going to be in the squad. When a team loses two key figures obviously the effort. However I believe we played very well. Tottenham had only two chances from dead balls. They managed to convert one of them, but apart from these two chances they did not really trouble us. In the second half we improved our performance. When Robert came in I moved back in my usual position as a center back and Distin moved to the left. When we scored the first goal I knew that it was a matter of time to score another goal. The third one was just the icing of the cake.

In this turn of the season I do not really care about the score as long as we continue winning the 3 points in every game. We are so close to achieve something great this season in both the FA Cup and the League that it would be a pity if we do not manage to at the end of the day.

And to think Dabs was nearly sold by YBR when Bobby first arrived.

What he lacks in ability he more than makes up in motivation and belief.

Good buy by TSM, at only £1.5m - not to mention Shay Given.

And Gary Speed. And Nobby Solano.

Although Speed was a bit overpriced, Solano was a bargain for £2m

Given didn't cost very much either - was he on a free?

£1.5m I think.

Blackburn didn't want to lose him but couldn't drop Flowers.
