Leica DRP

A friend of mine just bought a Leica DRP SN 18287 in Berlin. Is it a "fake" Leica? USSR made?

Thanks for your response.

If your friend's Leica looks like this, it's a Russian copy.

Don't know if this'll help or not, but DRP means Deutsches Reichspatent (German Kingdom Patent) so at least that sounds good.

Unfortunately, most Leica screw-mount copies are also inscribed with "DRP".
