First night under the stars this year!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

I don't know about you folks, but with the weather being so nice around here, our family just had to sleep out under the stars last night. It was 50 degrees at midnight! We had a fire in the outdoor fireplace, got out the telescope to look at the full moon, and enjoyed this fluke of January weather! I'm sure we'll pay for it come February, but it sure has felt like spring the last few days. Has anyone else been enjoying it?

If this is global warming, I'm all for it! :-)

Snow on the ground, 18 degrees or so, I don't THINK so! Send some of that global warming over here, please.

Sure enjpoying it here, did chores and did the 2 mile hike with the dogs with no coat on, the same for the evening chores as well!!!

We got daffodils sprouting, as well as crocus and hyacinth too, usually this doen't start happening until mid February, so we are truly blessed here of late.

We had an ice storm last night--if we would have slept out we would have frozen to death!!

Glad you are enjoying the nice weather-- we needed the moisture sooo badly---would have preferred it in another form rather tnan ICE--but it is moisture!!

Sounds like fun but think I'll wait a while...snowed last night and it was 10 degrees this morning...a little nippy for me!

Chuck I'll second you! It's been mild here in "the land of pleasant living" I'd have loved it. We made it through the 32 degree barrier (on the way down) last time we were down the farm. We were fools and didn't enjoy a fire that night (never again) Those stars were phenomenal, and that was in the valley!
