Pine Plantation

Christian is right. It's been too quiet here. What's happened to this forum? Here's another something to stir the pot again.

Canon D30, Canon 70-200 f/4L, 1/45 sec at f4.

Interesting shot. I like the effect of the composition, it's a collonade of trees.

The "hand of man" is evident here...both in the title and in the view of trees that are planted in orderly rows.

Other than that, I do like the image, especially the overall soft tone of the exposure. What kind of film did you use for this one?

Like the unusual composition. Also, like pictures I can walk into.

You're right about the hand of man.

The D30 is a digital SLR. No film.

What focal length did you use? There seems to be a lot more depth of field than what one can achieve at f4, even on the short end of the zoom, i.e. 70mm.

Otherwise, this is a nice and peaceful shot although not 100% nature as people point out.

I checked the EXIF data. The zoom was set at 70, which on the D30 is the equivalent of 112.

What I can say is.....BEAUTIFUL.....

Larry, I really like this. I sure hope we don't start excluding pictures like this as hand of man. I agree with Shun that this looks much deeper than I would expect f4 to allow. It also looks wider to me than 70mm could allow, especially since the D30 actually makes the 70mm effectively longer (doesn't it?). I've tried to get this effect and have never succeeded this well. Maybe it's because I'm usually using wides or ultra wides. I'll try a moderate tele the next time.
