Sad really

It's sad when you get to breaking point with someone you love, the following is on the RTG site, and is sad really

Thanks for picking up the club by its bootstraps and getting us into the Premier Lge. Thanks for getting the club moving in the right direction. Having got us moving in the right direction, why did you get rid of the class players you have done and replaced them with mediocrity? Why did you not do everything possible to retain those players and add to their quality? Well I'll tell you why Peter. You just don't have the class to take the club to where, with it's stadium, inferstructure etc, it now ought to be. It's just too big for you. You've peaked way below where the club ought to be. I'm not going to resort to insults,I'm dismayed at the way our fans hurl the scum origin insults at you, because you've done your best and the fact is that your best just isn't good enough any more. You've always seemed liked a pretty decent guy, so I'm sure you will agree that you really should do the decent thing and resign. After all you've said it many times yourself about no one person being bigger than the club. Snaaaaaaaaaaaap!. Sorry but I can't keep, after tonight, my professional face on any more. Cos we are talking football here, more to the point my beloved SAFC. You have fucked up big time pal. There is no way I want to see you at my club another minute.

Thanks Mac. I needed that ;-)

Possibly they're glory hunting fans that only turn up when they're guaranteed a win.........oops. ;-)

You've got to feel a bit sorry for them...I do anyway, it's as frustrating as hell to have someone at the helm who just isn't taking the club in the right direction.....we've had enough of that ourselves over the last few years.....

Aye, but at least he's better looking than and you can understand everyword of his diction.

I don't feel the slightest bit sorry for he fans. Thy'd be oving every minute of it if it happened to us. But I have to admit last night, listening to the match and the "Reid Out" chants and fans spitting at him ect.. I did feel a bit sorry for PR.

You must be joking. This season is a God send after all the shite they have come out with on these boards for the last two seasons. Personally I am thoroughly enjoying this season watching the chickens come home to roost for them. And believe me, if they beat us in the derby you will regret having had any sympathy for them.

Having said that, I dont actually think there is a huge gap between the two teams. The purchase of Bellamy and to a lesser extent Robert, with the return to fitness of Shearer and Dyer has made us stronger whilst the sale of Hutchinson and Rae together with Quinn being finished has moved us ahead of them.

I aint getting carried away though. If they get rid of the monkey (cos they should, but please God dont let em) and buy a few players with skill and pace then there will be little to choose between the two sides again.

In the meantime I will continue to piss myself. And even more so if they go down. They would be having street parties if the shoe were on the other foot.

To be honest I don't want Sunderland to go down. I want them to become another Southampton, struggling every season, staying up on the last day of the season, getting to the 5th round of the cup and calling a cup run etc.

Fans of relegated teams always feel shit but it goes away, quite quickly and naturally fans of promoted teams are ecstatic and their joy can only be matched by the teams that have won something.

I never want the mackems to have that sort of pleaseure. Let them struggle for a few years, it'll be much better.....

It is sad, and a time for us to avoid being too cocky or patronising (a good hearty belly laugh is of course allowable ;-) ). Seriously though, it shows the fine line between success and failure, and most of us remember only too well the endless frustration with underachievement. Are sights are thankfully a lot higher now, even though we still might say we're underachieviong, but even more thankfully our raised ambitions are shared by the club's management, despite the abuse they get.

If it wasn't for all the 2-1, 2-1, FTM sh*te that we've had to endure for the past 2 seasons I might feel sorry for them. Actually, nah, boll**ks to 'em, can't stand the tw**s, hope they go down.

The only reason I don't want them to go down is for the derby games - it is special and unlike any other match in this country.

As for Reid - he's out of his depth, ran out of ideas last season and is unwilling / unable to spend the supposed millions Bob Murray has tucked under his mattress. There's a certain amount of empathy, and no-one at your club should be called scum. When you're at the game you support your team. Outside and protest as much as you like.

And I doubt he'll just disappear with all his share options etc :-)

Excellent point Kegsy! Now why did'nt I think of that?

-- Anonymous, January 30, 2002

maybe because you are not as bitter and twisted as me

-- Anonymous, January 30, 2002

I hope they go down oh yes I do! Two of my best mates are Makems and I know quite a few of their mates, and I know Mackum season ticket holders who I bump into quite regularly in the pub out shopping etc. Everyone of the twats has been unbelievable over the last two seasons.
Always win 2-1, pissypants, Shearer’s a hopeless bastard - the insults have been consistent and foul while we’ve been shite. More maddening than this is the insults have been uttered with a particularly awful edge. Don’t get me wrong I can give it and I can take it, in fact I love the craic
Finished 7th two years running big fuckin deal.
