Hi. I would like to confirm that because it is the correct answer. In my English 3 class we just finish that story. The 7 colors do represents individual journey through life from birth-death. The last room of course is the room that the person meets death and dies.

Exactly. For proof look in Shakespeares'play "As You Like It" and it talks about the Seven Ages of Man. Each of Poe's seven rooms represents a phase of life, like birth and death.
