Sewing book Give-Away

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

I don't know if anyone will be interested in this, but I have a book to give away. If only one person wants it they will get it, if more than one I will draw names, say on Thursday.

It is called "The Reader's Digest Complete Guide to Sewing" It is a big book, 519 pages, not counting the index. It is copyrighted 1976, but this book is from the 14th printing dated 1989. Most of the pictures are black and white, and lots of drawings. It covers everything!

Examples: Necessities of Sewing, Patterns, fabric cutting, Fitting methods, Construction Basics like seams, darts, tucks, pleats, smocking, ruffles. Also necklines, collars, waistbands, belts, pockets, sleeves, hems, zippers. Also techniques for tailoring, sewing for men and children, and sewing for the home.

Let me know by signing up here and I will mail it to you!!

Melissa, I have that same book although I believe mine is an older edition. I can check the date when I get home tonight. Why don't you draw two names, first place can have your copy and second place can have my copy.

-- Sherri C in Central Indiana (CeltiaSkye@aol.com), January 30, 2002.

Sign in today if you are interested. I will draw a name about 8pm EST and someone will get my copy and the next person will get Sherri's copy.

Lisa wins my book, and Sandy wins Sherri's book. Thanks to all for participating. I wish I had one for each of you!
