What is the tooth fairy paying these days?

I just talked to a little 8 year old girl that lost both front teeth. She told me that the tooth fairy left her $5. Inflation? I never got $5!

Our tooth salesman (who buys teeth to sell to babies) pays 50 cents for the front teeth, and $1 for molars.

I just tell my kids to get a quarter out of the jar! They are usually happy to get it too!

Most she ever left at our house was a shiny quarter..of course last time she showed up I think it was 1986.

My daughter doesn't teach her family about the Tooth Fairy---as we don't believe in that-----but Grandma----gives a dollar when the grandson's loose a tooth!!!

Mine don't "believe in" the tooth fairy, either, but they get tooth fairy money, under their pillows, when they lose teeth. I believe I give the least of anyone I know. With six children, it didn't seem to be good precedent to get carried away;) They still get a quarter a tooth. Unless Mom forgets, then they get an extra quarter the next night for my guilt.

Dentist pulled teeth(those long rooted ones that just won't come out, and create, potentially, more trauma) get a dollar.

the last few times I've put 1 of those gold colored Sacagawea dollar coins under their pillows.

put the tooth in a bottle of coke overnight,, when it dissolves tell them someone stole it :D

Oh, i love that Sacagawea dollar idea! Or maybe a silver dollar, fify cent piece or silver coins not made anymore.....

We just went out for a milkshake (yes we all got one) which was a big deal for us. The children loved it!

Tooth fairy....

I don't think the tooth fairy has ever been on time at my house. My memory is dreadful. I have become quite creative in coming up with excuses for her tardiness! My kids aren't disappointed if the tooth is still there the next morning, they know she will show up eventually.

I'm thinking of writing a book, "101 things that delay the tooth fairy". It's so bad, the kids have started coming up with their own ideas of what could have prevented her timely arrival!
