Spurs

Starting to feel a bit nervous on this Monday afternoon.

We are not playing well and have influencial player missing (Speed) and they had a nice rest this weekend while our lads ran around on a strength sapping marshland of a pitch. Big Les also back as is Richards who seems to have a good game v Al.

I suppose they also have to play us so hope Hoddle is as concerned as we know BR will be. I just hope to god that, as discussed last week, there are no tactical 'brainwaves' from the manager.

I'd take a draw.

Hang on...weren't you the one saying why should we be worried about spurs? ;))

I was gutted to see their game get called off...was really hoping they'd be a bit knackered after Chelsea/Bolton.....they probably watered the pitch deliberately!

Yes Gav it WAS me but I'm not so full of it now that the game is near! I'm all talk me!!!

Seriously I don't think we should be scared of them but my trepidation is about the fact that Acuna did not look good in MF yesterday and unless Lee is fit then we could have problems.

The Spurs groundsman on Saturday was saying how they were impressing on the ref the fact that they had a big game on Wednesday! I was very angry. The ref should only take into account the state of the pitch on that day.

Typical underhand tactics of Hoddle no doubt. I don't trust that man.

Why does that not surprise me?! Probably for the same reason I've had a nagging feeling all weekend they might not have tried very hard to make sure the match went ahead.

I think we'd do ok if Lee is fit enough and plays alongside Acuna. We need someone exerting some kind of control in midfield. Our 4 yesterday ran their little socks off but none of them seems able or willing to take control. Sort that and we should do alright. I'd also be thrilled with a draw right now. ;-)

We cannot go to Spurs aiming to beat them tactically. It's basically all out attack and hope for the best as far as I'm concerned. If we have Dyer, Robert, Solano, Shearer and Bellamy all attacking them properly like they should, I don't care how good your defence is, you will struggle.

If we defend for the match we're buggered. Hope for the best as always, but we have a chance. Lee should be playing for a contract if he makes it.

Hope this doesn't sound patronising Paul, but you seem to have as good a grip on what it's taken me forty odd years to get even the odd glimpse, namely the options available for our current personel in games like this one against Spurs.

Hopes count for nowt. If we don't go at them for 94 minutes, we'll lose. Any hint of hanging on to any gains, and they won't stay gains for long.

We can win this, but only on our terms, not there's.

I think we should be going all out in every game we play. We're building a good defence now, but with the midfield still a bit of a shambles and all the firepower at our disposal, attack is our strength. We should use it.

Mind, I'd be more optimistic about Weds if Ferdinand, Sheringham, and Poyet would take a holiday on another continent! ;-)

Right i've got a ticket so we're going to lose....sorry but that's just the way it is....you can now all chip in and offer me loads of cash not to go....

I'll start the bidding at £1.14

Ok, £1.28 and a boiled sweet - my final offer

Come on lads! This is to ensure our victory! ;-))

I'm tempted I must admit....think i'll hold out for a bit more though....

You'll be heartened by my lack of attendance translating into PL contendership! Are the 2 connected I wonder?
