This story about Hall using his shares in NUFC as security for loans

This isn't a tremendously comfortable position, having 1/5 of the club pawned. Clearly things are very wrong with Cameron Hall and the sooner the Hall family's involvement is ended, the better. Yep, they've done some good stuff, but this sort of dealing is normally associated with dodgy chairman of clubs in division 3.

BTW, there was a story in last week's papers about Mrs Hall helping out in a friend's chip shop as the friend was short-staffed. Can't help wondering whether they actually need the money...

....or the Chairmen of media groups (eg. Mirror Group) and massive utility companies (eg. Enron), allegedly.

Having been in the general proximity of the trough towards the end of my career, I believe the amount of corporate corruption and insider trading that goes on would blow our minds if it could all be revealed. Not pretty.

The thing is, anyone with shares in any company can pretty much use them as security. I agree however that it doesn't feel good does it?

It's our being associated with so struggling a company that worries me, and the very real possibility that we will end up with Midland Bank (or whoever) owning 1/5 of NUFC.
