Hmm, the possibility for leg injuries knows no bounds...

Yes, if it's anything like the weather in London, I'd be a little worried about the match going ahead tomorrow. Very heavy rain and gale force winds. And lots more forecast.

Normal, obviously, for Whitley Bay in June...but I'd be a concerned about the pitch Barry Fry has already kindly highlighed. Depends how it drains, I suppose.

Nice shadows on the pitch at Boro though...

Just to give some sort of overview of what the weather is doing: Sporting Life site as of 1.25pm Sat:

West Brom's home FA Cup fourth-round tie against Leicester has been passed fit following a pitch inspection at the Hawthorns.

Torrential rain in the West Midlands had put the game under threat but referee Clive Wilkes gave the game the go-ahead as the Baggies aim to take a second Premiership scalp after knocking out Sunderland in the third round.

Portsmouth's home clash with Wimbledon, the only Division One game of the day, has been postponed, as has the Division Two match between Chesterfield and Bristol City.

Kidderminster versus Macclesfield in Division Three and the Nationwide Conference matches between Barnet and Farnborough, Forest Green and Dover, Nuneaton and Chester and Telford and Morecambe have also fallen foul of the wet weather which has swept across Britain.

North of the border, Dundee United's Tennents Scottish Cup clash with Hamilton has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch at Tannadice, while Ross County versus Airdrie in Division One, Alloa v Clydebank in Division Two and East Stirling v Peterhead in Division Three have also been called off.

Racing at Ayr has been abandoned as a result of the bad weather.

Meanwhile, Swinton's rugby league Challenge Cup third round tie with Skirlaugh scheduled for Sunday, was called off and re-arranged for Wednesday, January 30.

The Second Division clash between Cambridge and Port Vale has been called off because of a waterlogged pitch at the Abbey Stadium.

Morton versus Stenhousemuir in the Scottish Second Division has joined the growing list of postponed games

Spurs v Bolton off, along with Gillingham v Bristol Rovers...both in the FA Cup. Chelsea v West Ham is still on after 2.30pm pitch inspection.
