value of four volume set of "Works of E.A. Poe"

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Work of Edgar Allan Poe : One Thread

I own a four volume set of the "Works of E.A. Poe" They have leather covered spines and corners and have marbled covers and inside papers. The copyright is 1876 by W. J. Widdleton. The page edges are marbled also. The lithos or engravings are beautiful. In volume one the engraving of Poe is covered with onion skin and says "engr by E Halpia" and a copy of Poe's signature. The set also contains a small white aged calling card with a leaf of ivy sewn to it with tiny stitches of what appears to be black silk thread and hand written on it in black ink is a note that says "Grave of Edgar Allan Poe -- Baltimore Dec. 28th, 1886. I am contemplating selling the set and am wondering of the value. Please reply. Thank you. M.
