One more "Is it Art" barb

First off, thank you to everyone who everyone who so eloquently replied to my recent "Is it Art" posting. I generally don't run around quoting famous shooters, but Elliot Erwitt has a pretty straigh forward attitude about presenting work to the public.

He says, "Anytime anybody presents something to the public it's interesting by virtue of that, even if it's terrible. It's a manifestation of somebody's intention and that's always interesting."

My favorite quotation is from Sean Yates on the LF Forum: "Isn't Art the guy who lives over the garage behind the bowling alley?"

Jeff, thanks for posting the link to the Salon article on Elliot Erwit. There is also an interesting one on William Eggleston (one of my favorites) who has a nice group of pictures in the new Aperture. Best regards...
