If only online will do try www.eapoe.org for brief informative answers. As to influnce Poe was an original, therefore a bridge or rebel away from the current schools while still being part of his times. The main theory of art for its own sake FIRST instead of meaning and moral content was perhaps the most influential, especially for French poets and the symbolist movement and a host of visionary, lyric poets and writers of imagination. In OUR beknighted land of course Poe was an is in some haughty quarters, unfairly opposed, sidelined, criticized and disavowed(by the same sort of humorless mediocrities he would castigate were he alive today.)
