I read in the Pentax lit that the 1.4 converter is not recommended for use on the 400/4 EDIF lens. The Pentax people confirm this saying it may vignette at close range opened up. Any feedback? With that kind of price tag, one would surely want extension. thanks mark smith

Answers

You should investigate the 400 Takumar fully before spending that kind of money on the ED. If you have to use a 1.4x, then the Takumar may have some fringing problems with the lens at f/4-6.7.
