Worsted weight yarn and size 10 knitting needles or size to obtain gauge. Hat is made with TWO STRANDS held together. Gauge: 3 sts.= 1"; 4 rows = 1". Cast on 50 st. Knit 26 rows in garter stitch, purl 1 row (w.s.). Shape crown: (k5,k2tog.) 7 times, k1. Purl 1 row. (k4, k2tog) 7 times k1. Purl 1 row. (k3, k2tog.) 7 times k1. Purl one row. (K2, k2tog.) 7 times k1. Purl 1 row. (k1,k2tog.) 7 times k1. Purl one row. (k2tog.) 7 times k1 - 8 st. remain. Cut yarn, leaving a long end. Thread a yarn needle with the end and draw through the 8 remaining stitches: fasten securely on wrong side. Weave the back seam and weave in the ends This is a cap pattern that is easy and attractive. It is a popular style with teenagers and is suitable for men or women. You can add stripes as suits your fancy. I hope you like it, if you need help please let me know.
