He says it's "due to the pressures of the job"...aka Deadly Doug Ellis. Big job - who are the contenders to fill it?

...aside from Daveed Ginola, of course...

Tragic, just bloody tragic. ;o{[

Candidates? Inevitably, George Graham. Peter Reid? Bryan Robson? Stuart Gray? Mick Wadsworth? Craig Brown? There aren't too many obvious candidates actually.

I'm not surprised to be honest, I'll admit to feeling a bit sorry for the bloke, he has done a pretty good job at Villa, considering the smallish budget he had. The Villa fans wanted Champions League football which is perhaps asking a bit much.

I wouldn't like to see him at Newcastle, but he commands more respect with me than David O'Leary. Saying that, a pile of dogsh*te commands more respect than David O'Leary.

Canny shout gb - canny odds in aal!

Where's Gregory off to though? Is he getting ready to replace Steve Bruce once his three months are up at Birmingham?

Paul - still laughing at your dogsh*te comment! Couldn't agree more!

BTW - I hope Bobby doesn't offer him a job! God forbid!

All the talk amongst the Villans is either Graydon (recently resigned of Walsall) to take over and John boy to go to Derby! Or even worse for Villa - George Graham! Actually I can see GG fancying that.

As long as he has nowt to do with us.

Just read the report on Sporting Life. Said he intends to "take a break from football" and the stuff about pressures being too much, etc. Can't help wondering if he might be calling up his old pal, Stan to recommend a good clinic. ;-))

take a break from football

Crikey, he's not swapping jobs with Peyter is he? Actually, I think he'll be at Derby within a week.

Heaven must be missing an angel

Thank God Shep's in a brothel in Oz. With a bit of luck JG will be lined up with a new job before he returns. I trust the Ozzie cliques will ensure that FS is "well entertained" or the next week or so.

Graydon and GG lead the betting at ca. 4-1. You can still get 14-1 for Schmeichel.

Amusingly, also in the betting is Andy Grey at 25- 1. I'd love to see The Gob take a crack at Managing, and find out at first hand just how difficult it really is.

I laughed out loud when I heard the news. He's got a big gob, thinks he's entitled to walk on the pitch during the game, shows no loyalty to his players, whinges and moans about money and then when he does break the bank on a player (Angel) complains about his goal scoring attributes and subs him for half the season (has he player 90mins yet?).

Him and Deadly Doug deserved each other. Hope he never returns to football again.
