Faith of a little child

My 3 y.o. granddaughter, Becca, lives with us about half of each week and I am constantly getting lessons regarding faith from her.

Last week we lost a sweet old mare due to an accident. I always feel a little down when "the truck" comes to haul a horse away. I tried to keep Becca from the scene but she came running out of the house just when the truck arrived and of course she saw the dead mare. I was trying to figure out how to explain the loss to her when she took my hand and said, "Don't feel bad, Gramie. Rosie is going to Jesus, because she had Jesus in her heart." (Then she informed me the truck was delivering Rosie to Jesus, and I sure didn't know how to respond to that one!)

We were discussing a Bible verse and I made a comment about the Lord. Becca looked at me, and said, "You may call him "the Lord", but he really prefers for me to just call him Jesus."

Most of you know Becca's daddy had a near miraculous successful brain surgery recently. Yesterday Becca and I were talking about the surgery and the long recovery period afterward. I mentioned what a difficult time that must have been for her and her daddy. Becca said, "No, mommy went to work each day, but God and I stayed home and took care of daddy."

It gave me a lot to think about last night.

When faith is instilled that early, you just know that child will do amazing things with her life!
