Ralph Gibson Interview

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

There is a wonderful interview w/Ralph Gibson in the new Shutterbug that is worth a read. It is refreshing to see a famous photographer still sticking to his Leica guns. Also the minimalist approach intrigues me as well.

Regards, Mike

Thanks for the post and the link! I was surprised to learn that Ralph shoots both color and B&W, as I thought he only ever shot TX.

I also found the following excerpt to be very informative from the perspective of being an artist: "I don’t have a message. Samuel Goldwin said ‘if you have a message, send a telegram’. I’m doing it for myself to make myself happy and to see how it works."

:) Cheers,

Thank you Michael and Shourya for pointing to the R. G. link. I went through the long interview with a lot of interest. Great stuff for a LEICA photographer.

And don´t miss to go to R. G. website direct: www.RalphGibson.com

Also very worthwhile.

Best wishes
