Southampton game ticket/beers

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I have now got my flight booked and will be arriving back in the Promised Land on February 6 in time for the Soton game and of course the pre-match beers in the Strawberry where I will hopefully be able to put names and faces to aliases (I think I've probably seen you all thanks to Stephs excellent photo's). Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to stay post match as I have friends from the South (Yorkshire) coming up to visit.

So now that we've got that organised how do I get the ticket? Will the ticket office have them on general sale and if so when? There will only be me.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and am looking forward to meet you all.

Okay, I was lazy - I just checked the official site and saw that tickets go on General sale on Monday. It's been a while since I was last home - what's the new name of the Gallowgate? And which part has the best atmosphere?

"And which part has the best atmosphere?" - the away end these days ;-)

Who renamed the Gallowgate?

The club did - there are tickets for the Milburn stand, Sir John stand, Newcastle Brown stand and East stand.

Where's the gallowgate gone?

The club did - officially we have: Sir John Hall Stand (North), Milburn (West), East Stand (duh..), and Newcastle Brown Stand (South).

Since S&N no longer sponsor us, do we get to rename that stand?

It'll always be the Leazes and the Gallowgate.

The John Hall's the Leazes the Broon Ale the Gallowgate The Milburn's the old West Stand The East Stand is the old 'new' Stand. Clear?

Bobby I think the Gallowgate was christened the Newky Broon when S&N stopped being shirt sponsors.

Easy to remember...Broon Ale stand is closest to the Strawbeery. ;-)

I have just ordered me ticket from the (hopefully) efficient ticket office. The middle of the middle tier in the broon stand. Wahey. I'm finally coming yem. See you all in the Strawberry (I'll be the one looking scared)
