To swap: Leica M 50mm f2 and Contax T3 for Leica M 35 mmf2 Asph

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

I would like to swap a Leica 50mm f2 summicron and a Contax T3 camera for a 35mm f2 Asph lens.

The summicron is in mint condition and comes with caps leather case and box. The Contax T3 is brand new, only three rolls of film used.

The 35mm f2 Asph should likewise be in goods condition with no cosmetc imperfections.

The 50 summicron is an M version

With all due respect, I would not do that if I were you. But I'm not.

good luck.

May I ask why you would not do this?

Gavin, becos the sumicron 50 is as good as the 35.

and u would have a T3 as extra.

I'm with Travis on this one. You have 1 legendary 50mm lens and one very very high quality 35mm lens packaged with a state of the art mini-camera around it. Why trade for the lesser functionality of a 35 Asph alone? And besides, dollar for dollar, it does seem like a lopsided trade, though perhaps not in the US, where market prices of 35 Asphs are somewhat high compared to the rest of the world.

My humble opinion? Sit on it a while, use the T3 some more and then decide...

I don't want to be presumptuous and speak for Gavin, but one possibility is that he may be trying to streamline and simplify as I often try to do.
