As part of the SMART Process NSF grant, District 6 is again (in conjunction with Districts 3 & 5) offering a one-year science course exploring the topics that are taught in middle school science (grades 5-8). The Spring 2002 course deals with physics and chemistry concepts. The courses are designed for middle school science teachers!

Participants earn a total of 10 credits for the 2-semester sequence, including 6 undergraduate credits in science and 4 graduate credits in education.

Classes meet Mondays 5:00-8:30 and Wednesdays 5:00-6:15, beginning Wednesday, January 30th. District 6 teachers should call the D.O. (917.521.3690) immediately if you are interested.
