Can someone tell me when the final is? Can't find it on any fixture list. Someone said last weekend that it was the Saturday BEFORE the last game of the season ie on the 4th May. Anyone confirm this?

As far as I know, that is correct. It's the date listed by the folks distributing closed circuit footie broadcasts in the States. It's probably also buried somewhere in the Sporting Life site. They list all fixtures by month, but you do a bit of clicking and scrolling to get to what you want.

Cheers ciara, that confirms my fears and puts me further into trouble with the missus. I agreed to a week in the Spanish sunshine in May but only as long as it didn't clash with any important games, a cursory glance at the fixtures told me Cup final day must be on the 18th because it's ALWAYS the Saturday after the last day of the season, as a consequence flights were booked for the 19th, turns out we could've gone on the Friday night. Bugger.

The fixture list on my wall (Biffa's diary from before those wankers at the Premier League made him take it down) sayd May 4th. I believe that date was chosen due to a classic piece of FA bungling - when they announced that it was going to be a week before the season finished they said it was to help England prepare for the World Cup. Seems to me like it would be a whole lot better if only 2 teams were playing on May 4th and not the whole premiership.
