picture show submissions

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Given the huge success (not!) of the posting pictures thread, if people want to send me the urls to their snaps I'll set up a single message with pictures only and a byline for each. PLease don't send me the snaps themselves, as I am not offering to host a load of pictures on my server. One url per participant. I'll take submissions until Thursday midday GMT. My email address is below, yes it's really me...

The picture show message containing all snaps will be headed (yes, you guessed) "Picture Show". I guarantee it'll work (if the urls are correct).

So if I just e-mail you a picture you will post it here?

Phil: I don't think that's what he said. I think you are supposed to have your picture already on the net *someplace* and send Rob the URL for it.

Hi Folks. There has been much talk lately about people posting pics and PAWs etc...and alot of people have had problems. At the Leica M Users Group we have set up a separate site for members to post their pics that does not require them already being posted on the web somewhere else. I know that many people don't have website access but would still like to post pics for folks to view, so this was set up to make that possible. Managing your folders is very simple, and uploading a picture from your computer directly to the site takes seconds. The software even allows members to write comments and critique under each of your images. Each member of the Leica M Users Group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MUGers/ automatically receives 30 megabytes of free space to post their portfolios, at zero cost. The gallery site is at http://www.leica-gallery.net/

Now just to make this quite clear; I'm inserting this message to be of help to many people who have had problems posting images for viewing. This is not my trawling for members, we are already 330 plus members which is just fine, but many of our members, including myself, are members of multiple lists, and the www.Leica-Gallery.net allows us to show our images to all lists, not just our own. Yes, you have to be a members of the Leica M Users Group to be able to post your images, but you may then use your image URLs to show anyone your work and you can upload and image in seconds and remove it in seconds.

I hope this will indeed help many people to more actively participate in Leica discussions and debate, on this list and all the others.

Anyone needing further assistance is welcome to contact me off-list.

Best Wishes,

-Duncan
