To Nelson Algren's three rules for living ("Never play cards with a man called Doc. Never eat at a place called Mom's. Never sleep with a woman whose troubles are worse than your own.") perhaps we should add a fourth:

Never get your car fixed at a place called Reliable.

Taking photos there seems like a pretty good idea, though . . .

And as an owner of an 19-year-old car, I can advise you to take your car to a shop that has the owner/lead mechanic's name (preferably first name) in the name of the business.

Terrific tonal range. I'd like to know the details (including of the scan).

this was made with a hasselblad, 80mm lens, and tri-x. it was film scanned on a microtek scanmaker5.

Fantastic photo! I love everything about it.

I need to find someone in my area who is experienced in street people photography to shadow and watch how he/she works with the subject...I'm just too timid and shy!

I have a 37 year old Mustang that needs some lovin' right now!

Anyone have this guy's name and phone number. My tax refund is going to restore it. "Reliable" is OK with me!

I really like this one, too. This is one that would look great framed and matted. Stunning tonal portrayal. Dizzying blacks. Wonderful shadow detail. Perfect highlights. Exceptional background, i.e. enough but not too much. I can smell the oil.
