Peterborough it is

2-0 with seconds to go - just got the second in the final minute in front of over 10,000.

I saw Peterborough a couple of weeks back. They have a decent front man in Leon McKenzie (related to the boxer Duke - sister I thing!) - he's quite quick and tricky - and a midfielder in Dave Farrell who is probably their best player. They've also got a youth called Jimmy Bullard who they got on a free from West Ham and who has scored a fair few goals from midfield. In the game I saw theough, he missed a penalty, was given another go at it by the ref and missed it again!!

Another of their players is the ex Wimbledon man Andy Clarke who once held the record for the worst scoring record for a striker in the Prem - he's done well at Peterborough though, I think he was top scorer when they won promotion from the third a couple of years back.

Of course their greatest claim to fame is their barking mad manager the much vaunted Barry Fry. Many people see Fry as a cheeky cockney chappy who's always good for a laugh. Personally, I see him a s a big-mouthed wide boy with the tactical nous of an intellectually challenged turnip. I would love it if we beat him - just love it!!!

Away to Peterborough.

Barry Fry should go to Sunderland, he'd be the perfect Peter Reid replacement.

Andy Clarke always played a blinder against us for Wimbledon - in fact we were said to be interested in signing him after one notable performance. I'd much rather we played Darlington - apparently the Peterboro pitch is like a ploughed field. Not keen.

Well, we should be OK then Clarky. We've had plenty of practice on surfaces like that (well, one in particular). At least we should get more ticket allocation than we would at Feethams (assuming it wasn't under water).

Peterborough have actually got a league game TOMORROW as well away to Tranmere! I suppose they wanted to play tonight so they could lay hands on the telly money for Sunday. I wonder what sort of team Fry will put out.

Incidentally, one or two lads on the Peterborough Rivals site reckon Newcastle won't sell their ticket allocation!!

Ugh. What worries me is the potential for Peterborough to kick our players all over the pitch and the state of their pitch. Fry is already quoted as saying that the pitch is poor and will be an advantage.

Aye, I can almost see a neo-St*****e B*****h scenario with this one. Fry was on the radio today saying he thought Posh had probably the worst pitch in the league* and that we wouldn't fancy playing them on it one little bit. The c**t. Of course, nice of STY to put us on Sunday too. Better hammer this lot of jokers...

*on reflection, I don't suppose the pitch conditions can be much worse than at home :-)

The St******* B******* fiasco was the final nail in the coffin for the Toon's image as far as the media were concerned. Hopefully we will have learned from it and the players will say nowt and not rise to Fry et al's baiting.

Barry Fry was brilliant on Radio 5 this morning. They asked him how he was looking forward to the game.

"Last season we went to Chelsea and I was praying it wouldn't be double figures against us. This time we're at home. We have the worst pitch in the league (if only he knew !) and we have poor floodlights. These top players won't like it all. I'm going to see if I can play 3 goalies and the rest as defenders and hang on for a draw to get the money form the replay !!!"

Nearly had me going

Whatever you do DO NOT enter the bingo hall outside the ground.

I tried as I was desperate for the bog (not a little job) and they refused to let me in as I was not a member.

I got out £5 to join but thet said it took a day to process and if I tried to use the bog they would get the police as I was not a member.

And these were little old ladies.

That was not a comfortable drive home.
