Di Canio - hypocrisy?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I meant to ask this a week ago. It may just be my faulty memory, but does anyone else recall Di Canio stating publically only a few months back that he wanted to spend the rest of his career at West Ham ? From what I recall nothing had triggered the statement, he just came out with it. That being the case, what does it say about his reaction to ManU's approach ?

If you're happy with your lifestyle you don't play the lottery.

what if the lottery is part of your lifestyle? This is silly, stop that right now! Hey look if you were offered that sort of opportunity at the end of your playing career would you not understand (err that assumes you have a playing career;->), I would and I think most WHammers do to.

Granted TM - I was just wondering just what it is that possesses these players to come out with these claims of loyalty when we know, they know, everyone knows that if the right offer comes in they'll sell their grannies to leave and not even leave a forwarding address ?? same applies for YKD's recent pronouncements - I'll believe it when the ink's on the new contract bonny lad

Come late to this discussion - but here's my two penneth worth. I understand that if the player being sold HAS NOT asked for a move then he's entitled to 10% of the transfer fee. Therefore if your name gets floated as a possible target, it's probably a good thing to let it be known that you haven't asked for a move. It both keeps the fans happy that you're loyal and more importantly puts you in line for 10% of fekkin millions.

No wonder Marcelino is keeping such a low profile. ;-)
