HELP!!!!!!!! I failed to save my tomato seeds last year---DOH. Does anyone have some beefy style, ala Big Boy or Homestead, or Beefsteak heirloom tomato seeds that they would like to trade, or sell to me at a reasonable, yet quick pace???? I have the following seeds:

luffa, rattlesnake pole bean, cornfeild pole bean, black beans (I forget the variety) basil genova, rosa bianca eggplant, hungarian banana pepper, morning glory, and who knows what else. I'll check and see later.

I am only interested in open pollinated heirloom seeds. Puhhhleeeaaaseeeee, help! Thanks!

Hello Doreen. Open-pollinated (mostly heirlooms) are the only seeds I use, also. Often, I use seeds from some of my dried tomatoes. You probably wouldn't want mine, as I didn't separate them, so don't know just what they would be. Most of them were Pruden's Purple, a wonderful meaty tomato (not really purple)with a nice thin skin. I understand that tomatoes do not cross-pollinate easily, but they may.

Is anyone worried about the post office radiating their seeds?? My postmistress says they tell her that it is so low, that it won't affect seeds, but who knows? I plan to use my leftover seeds and maybe buy a few locally.

There radiating our seeds, What next, all the more reason we should save our seeds, Tomatoe seeds are easy to save, I just spread them out on paper towel, {from the biggest nicest form tomatoe}and roll the towel up and put away, The juice soaks into the towel. The veg that cross pollinates the worse is squash and cucumbers, Keep them far apart. Corn will cross pollinate too, Keep them really far apart.

I also learned the hard way that seeds should be stored in rodent proof containers.
