What does the number 36 pertain to conserning Bessie Coleman whom passed on in April of 1926 due to an airshow accident? Please remember that search engines are not acceptable for the stumpers, I cannot compete with 3,000,000,000 pages of info.

Ok, Mitch, I'll take a wild guess...several, in fact. Um, was she the 36th person killed? Were there 36 people injured? Maybe she was 36 years old???

I think I need a second cup of coffee before I do any serious thinking on this. :P

The number was assigned to her for a reason.~

Well, I used my "other" search engine (dh who is a pilot and also a nut about planes/flying), so I now know who Bessie Coleman is and what she did, but STILL don't know the answer to your stumper. Argh!

Bessie Coleman was involved in more than one "first".~

No responses for a couple of hours soI will let you know that Bessie was the first black woman pilot in the days of emerging air planes.~~~~~~

I am going out for the evening so I am going to shut this down due to lack of interest. 36 was Bessies pilot license number.

Mitch---it wasn't that we weren't interested---most of us were gone all day!!!! Thanks for entertaining us!!!

Sondra, I can do a little soft shoe or tap with the proper inticement. I should have said shut this ONE down; I am still alive there will be a stumper tomorrow if the Source says so.

Double argh! LOL! I should have got that one, and so should my dh! Ha! Wait till I tell him he missed one that should have been easy for him.

My next answer was going to be did she fall from 3,600 feet up? (I would hate to be remembered for that!) BTW, everyone, Bessie was the first black woman pilot and she FELL out of her plane when she was doing a test flight and the plane malfunctioned. The consequences of not wearing a seat belt, I guess. Although the pilot with her at the time, who was apparently wearing his seat belt and didn't fall out, also died when the plane finally crashed. That's my contribution to the trivia for the day. ugh

Thanks, Mitch, that one was fun. Drove dh and I crazy all day. And yes, we were gone most of the day also so I couldn't get back to the forum.
