Specifications of metz 45 CT-5

Have just purchased the above flash to use with my F3. Unfortunately I didn't get the instructions! can anyone tell me the guide number and secondly what is the angle of coverage? do you have to use the wide adapter for 28mm lenses and set the top dial on W?

Would I be better off swapping it for Nikon's SB16A?

Dave.

The GN is 45 (metres). The clue is always in the model number with Metz guns.
The coverage is stated as being for a 35mm lens, so you should really use the WA adapter for anything wider.
"Would I be better off swapping it for Nikon's SB16A?" - I doubt it.

Guide Number is 45 and all you need to do is set the Fstop on the gun to match the lens setting and go. If you are using a zoom lens I would suggest setting the lens stop to overexpose by 1 i.e. gun setting to f8 and lense to f5.6. Need weide angle diffuser if going wider than 35mm.
