data missed if battery removedgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread |
I would like to know if EOS bodies, particularly EOS 300,fail to show the no. of frame left on the LCD if i removed the battery while the film is inside the body? Thanks

No. All EOS cameras have a tiny bit of EEPROM (electrically erasable programmable read-only memory) that stores that information even if the battery is removed.I believe the camera won't remember the last shutter speed and aperture settings you had (and whether the beeper was turned off) but the frame number will be preserved.

yes, i agree to what Guy says. i too have removed the batteries of my EOS 300 many times. i find that the number of frames does gets restored though i have not checked any other information like the last exposure setting.
