Dyer's the new Diego By ROSS GREGORY

NOLBERTO SOLANO reckons Kieron Dyer is destined to become as big a name as Diego Maradona.

Newcastle's Peruvian midfielder Solano played with the Argy legend at Buenos Aires side Boca Juniors.

And he recognises the same sort of greatness in his Toon team-mate. Solano, 27, raved: "He is faster than Diego and just as exciting.

"I don't know whether Maradona knows who Kieron is but I think, by the end of the World Cup, the whole world will know about him.

"It's difficult to compare them because Maradona was the best player in the world when there was more space and time to play.

"Kieron has unbelievable energy and pace and he can run for 95 minutes.

"He is an excellent player, considering he's just 23 and he has only played in the Premiership for a few years. But he has the technical ability to be one of the world greats.

"He can be a big star at the World Cup, where he will have a great chance to show who he is.
