Hi Rob, First of all capture your powerpoint presentation with the help of Mocrosoft Camcorder and convert this avi file to mpeg through avi2vcd converter. Enjoy

But furst remember that when converting to VCD format your effective screen size becomes (352x288 pixels) for PAL. You may just lose out on details of text. I recommend you enlarge all your text first (12points or more) and change the colours of the fonts to contrast with the background first. Then convert it to MPEG. ps. for better results try capturing the images using a lossless codec... or better still, uncompressed (you will need lots of harddisk space and a stinking fast machine)

Regards

Microsoft camcorder doesnt work for Windows XP, Is there any other program that has the same capabilities?

Try Camtasia from

http://www.techsmith.com/

It will not record animation or fast frames (video) but it does a darn good job with its loseless screen codec. Hats off to it.

You vid is save as an avi. i don't know how it handles in XP.

I just did it.

1. Use Camtasia to capture AVI from PPT 2. Use AVIEdit to overlay sound file. 3. Use TMPGEnc to convert to MPEG 4. Use NTI CDMaker Pro to create VideoCD.

Hi,

PowerPoint for Mac and Keynote (only on Mac) is able to convert ppt into avi.

-- Robert Woernle (robert.woernle@student.uni-siegen.de), April 24, 2003.

Well, save the "pages" as an image and import into Windows Movie Maker - only helpful if on a XP machine.

Anywhoo, you can alter the time its displayed, add other audio or even video then save as an AVI if you want.

Hi, I am trying to convert powerpoint xp version to an avi file, does anyone now how to do it.

-- (dlockett@memphis.edu), November 13, 2003.

Guys, i think rob wants to convert ppt to avi including animations! I think the best way is to use a screen capture device. You could also save the ppt slides as jpeg and convert it to avi then to vcd but will you get the animation?? I think not. Keep trying.

the best way to convert ppt into mpeg is camtasia software. 1.play the ppt in powerpoint all over the screen. 2. record it (the result is great) to avi... 3. get an avi to mpeg decoder. 4. you're done!!

-- idan shalish (noemail@nothing.com), December 25, 2003.

have you tried using FRAPS, a good screen capture app, have used it a few times in the past to make movies from games and works well... Going to try it on ppt files when i get home and will let you know how it goes..

-- Freaky B (junk2meuk@yahoo.co.uk), April 23, 2004.

Fraps did not work, so i download the have investigated Camtasia Studio and it worked. Now i have an avi of the ppt file. I hear you saying 'i wanted to convert to mpeg'... Then i opened TMPGEnc and converted it to mpeg2 format

Hope this gets u on the right path.

Ooooops forget about running it though TMPGEnc, got mixed up with another topic......

After getting the avi i then make a few changes in Vegas 4 and render it as an MPG2 dvd format. Long winded way but at the end of the day you get your mpg file from the ppt.
