Multiple problems post shoulder arthroplasty

greenspun.com : LUSENET : About Joints : One Thread

I had a total shoulder replacement procedure 7 months ago. About 3 weeks after the surgery, the subscapularis ruptured from the attachment site. That was repaired with great difficulty in a second surgery. Then it happened again about 6 weeks after the second surgery. Now, I am told that the ruptures are a result of the incorrect angles of the prosthesis and the wrong glenoid version causing both the early wearing of the glenoid and multiple tendon ruptures. I am really in a great deal of pain and terrified of the revision surgery. Is this a common occurrence in TSA or am I just one of the unlucky few? Secondly, how difficult is revision surgery and reconstructing tendons?
