Hello,

Does anyone know if there exists any audio of anyone (an actor, professor) reading any of Poe's works?

Thanks

Dear Don,

I know that there are several different audio books on Poe's work, but I don't know any of the exact titles and reference numbers. I have a CD at home which includes readings by such acting greats as Christopher Walken and Gabriel Byrne (hope that's how you spell his name- I think the CD is called something like "Works of Edgar Allan Poe: Closed on Account of Rabies"... I can get you the exact title if you e-mail when I have had a chance to go home). I also have seen readings by Basil Rathbone in the shops, where he reads I think six of Poe's short stories.

But the best thing to do is to just go to a shop where they sell music (HMV or some such place) and just ask if they have anything on Poe in the "Spoken Word" section, or whatever they call it. As it says somewhere in the Bible, "Ask and ye shall receive"

Sincerely,

Pragmatic Poe
