I want to make VCDs by 'ripping' a DVD disc. I need to know of some recommended software to do this from the first, all the way until I can play this VCD in my DVD player. I have been reading on this and have been downloading software. I will play around with it and see what happens. Any help would be appreciated. Thanx much.

www.vcdhelp.com, www.doom9.net, and www.digital-digest.com all have guides to doing this that tell you what to do and what you need to do it. Before you get started, you should check the DVD player compatibility list at www.vcdhelp.com. Please be aware that a large number of DVD players do not support CD-R or CD-RW media at all and you should find out if yours does so you don't waste your time.
