FS/Trade 40mm f/2-M-Rokkor w/metal shadegreenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread |
Ideally there's someone out there with a nice vintage chrome Summilux who's interested in a trade, but I have a super clean M-Rokkor lens 40mm f/2. Just bought a metal shade from Stephen Gandy's web site and it fits beautifully! So much better than those collapsible rubber shades..This is the CLE version, full M capability... Looking to get $275 with the shade and Leitz rear cap but no front cap. I'm trying to post a pic but if it doesn't work, contact me and I'll send you one. Mint-/Exc++ all around. Smooth action, clean glass, no surprises #2116543.

Oh! Looking for a 50mm Summilux, if that wasn't clear...first or second version, hood would be a bonus. This Rokkor seems to be a much talked about lens on this forum so I thought I'd offer it here first before that auction site that's dominating the Leica world. Works particularly well on the M3. Now I'm rambling...Thanks!

Colin, I have the same lens and use it on my M3, but I'm curious as to why you feel it works particularly well on that particular camera.

Hi Dave - I like the lens on an M3 because the viewfinder provides an accurate representation (in terms of perspective) of the captured image on film. Use the whole finder ( just outside the framelines of the 50) and with some practice it's 'what you see is what you get.'... At any rate, I'm still pining for the Summilux.

I already have the 40/2 M-Rokkor (CLE), but thanks for posting the pic of the lens w/the Cosina shade (my original rubber shade's starting to go & my old Zeiss Ikon 40.5mm shades are too big). I saw it on Gandy's website, but had no idea how it looked on the M-Rokkor.
