OP/TECH soft pouch for Leica r6.2greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread |
HiDoes anyone have one of the OP/TECH soft pouches described here
http://www.optechusa.com/slr.htm
Are you happy with it? They have a list of cameras that are supposed to fit but of course no specific Leica Model. Does anyone know which one (if at all) fits a R6.2?
Thanks

Aha, found another interesting "soft pouch" :http://www.saundersphoto.com/html/zing.htm
Same question - does anyone have the Zing
Standard Universal "Eveready-Style" SLR Camera Case
or
Standard SLR Camera Cover
and can report how that fits a R6.2 (summilux lense here)?
Thanks a bunch

I own the OP/TECH SRL case and hate it. The main problem with the design is how the buckle is positioned on the bottom. It makes the camera unstable (wobbly) when you set it on a flat surface. The only way that feels stable is to lay the camera on it's back, which to me just doesn't seem right.

I have a couple of Zing! neoprene cases for SLRs. They're great for packing but even more bothersome than leather ERC's in use.

I have a standard size Zing cover (the 'Action' version with detachable waste strap - a useful extra, but note that the plastic connectors for the strap are permanently sewn on). It's a nicely padded case with quite an ingenious design, but a little slow to use (and needs to be fully removed to get at the camera - I haven't tried the eveready version). It fits a Contax 167MT (medium-sized for a manual-focus SLR) and smaller Yashica bodies very well (the Neoprene is pretty elastic). I don't have a Leica SLR, but if the R6.2 is no larger than the previous R models, I suspect you'll be fine - preferably buy from a dealer with a good returns policy in case you need the next size up. Incidentally, the medium Zing belt pouch and also the 'Multi-Strap camera/Accessory Bag' are good fits for a Leica III-size body and collapsed Elmar.

I have the Op/Tech Rangefinder Pouch for my M6 and I am totally delighted with it. I wouldn't get rid of it for anything.
