Make a List

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Country Families : One Thread

This goes along with the self-esteem post.

"Make a list of 5 things you have already done this year that makes you feel proud of yourself and happy to be alive"

You can do this privately, or if anyone wants to post theirs, feel free! It is just something to think about. You are more important thatn you might think you are!!!

oops, hit the old submit button a little fast.

-kept my resolution to keep in touch with family and friends better. - learned to crochet. - learned to bounce back better than ever before when something disappointing happens (decrease in pity party time).

QUIT my 9 to 5 job to try the stay at home thing my last day was monday. Paid off some bills. Started some small home improvement tasks one a day. Visited and used a site called OrganizedHome.com. Planned a trip with my D.H. to northern California for next Month our anniversary is feb. 14. Making plans for some landscaping and gardening this spring. will probably look for another job eventually just part time and enjoyable, not the full time drudgery thing.

Let's see.....don't know if 5 come to mind, but here's a few:

1. Started a list for a "project a month". This month it's crocheting a rug for dd room.

2. Am eating smaller amounts and better food. Gone is the sweets from the holidays.

3. Have not gone shopping except for the grocery (once in the last two weeks). I have enough "stuff" , but love to go to the antique/junk stores.

That's all that come to mind at the moment.

Ok, here goes-

1. Drove Grandpa's ratty old truck to lumber yard andnot only got THE CORRECT MATERIALS (lumber yards intimidate me) but also got the truck started again when it stalled out.

2. pulled out those knitting needles and learned a new stitch.

3. Started writing a couple of Countryside articles-havn't sent them off yet, but have gotten rough drafts done.

4. Unfortunantly got into a tangle with someone on Countryside forum, but decided HE had a problem and I'm not going to let it get to me (too much anyway....)

5. Cleaned out frount hall closet and installed a shelf. Went to Lowes and got materials for it myself.

Hey, thanks Melissa-I'm feeling pretty good right now!!!!
