Have I missed something but didn't the transfer system get an overhaul recently? Weren't big money transfers supposed to be a thing of the past? Or has the new system not yet been ratified?

I only ask after seeing Real Madrid want to offer silly money for Veira and also becuase transfers are spoken about in the press in much the same way as they've always been.

Someone who knows -enlighten me please!

It'll not really kick in for a year yet as the main rule was that players could only move for nothing after they have completed their first 3 years of their contract.

I would imagine that Viera signed a new contract with Arse within 3 years.

This is how it works in Championship Manager anyway and it's normally as accurate as it gets.

I've never played the game but surely for the sake of accuracy there is an option which allows you to leak stories to the press, unsettle a player, bung his agent a few grand and wait. Then the player's form will drop, he'll fail to turn up to training, slag off his current manager's tactics in the papers and you sign him up.

Their should be...also their should be an option where you can threaten to quit so that the board release extra funds for the players you want or you can slag your board off publicly (Satan) to try and get extra cash out of them....

Thats right In my fisrt 2 seasons , Season 1 Beaten finalist of eufa cuop after winning intertoto and won the `premier league , 2nd season won Champ league Worthy fa and premiership - Dont ask how i did it but ive an incredible team now. I went to the board to ask for more cash for wages they refused i threatened to resign they still refused. 3 seasons later im still restricted in wages and my players want to go to Man u real etc for 80K a week plus -money grabbing bastards.

I've just been getting into this game again after updating it with all the latest transfers (cole etc)and just when i thought i'd cracked it boom sh*t hits the fan. 1st season i finished 2nd i was over the moon and my defence was one of hte top in hte league. 2nd Season Win hte League Cup, Qtr Finals Of CL. i beat Real Madrid 5-1 @ home and Lazio 4-3 away :), however my league forms up the spout and i finished 8th. I signed Ebbe Sand for 19.5m and well his value went up to 15m after some CL goals but he doesn't score enough in the league its now back to 9.5m value. Also Dyers (rated 11.5m) a GEM!! 20 goals+ also shearer had a blinder. 3rd Season i've signed Defoe 14.5m & Melchoit for 15m (he was the r.back in hte team of the season 02/03) Now how do i have get a tight defensive unit? for the people who are succesful as NUFC what are your tactics? who have you signed? and does having good coaches, a.m, physios make a differnce?
