Did yers see his backheel volley? Outrageous. Can't believe that talent is sitting in the bench most of the time.

Yup, saw it nick - amazing. That was one the most outrageous pieces of skill I've ever seen. What a talent.

Someone did it in Serie A 2 seasons back and it was hailed as the greatest goal ever scored, so predictably 2 more of them did it the next week just so as not to be outdone. Chiesa and Nedved were 2 of them but I can't remember the third.

That would've been me, on loan from Wark FC :-)

Very cheeky goal indeed...but what about the marking? Any slacker and it would have been a pair of casual wear trousers.

Crap marking - but that's not Zola's fault. It was such a brilliant goal, my immediate reaction was that Zola had hit the ball on and then there had been some sort of og.

All became clear after the first replay - and Sky had one brilliant later angle on the goal. You could hear the Stamford Bridge crowd's reaction when they saw the replay. Sure a lot of them missed the back- heel volley first time round - it was so quick.

If that impressed you lot I have a bridge I think some of you might be interested in buying.

Now I know I have told some stories occassionally here, this one is true. When I tore the ligaments in my shoulder I was told I would not play again in goals. I started playing on the park as an inside forward. Remember this IS true. Anyway that little trick was shown to me by an ex pro. I never used it in front of goal though. It was used when your back was to goal and you were being closed down from behind as the ball was played to your feet you let it run past the first leg and tap it with the other foot.

This usually left the defender about 2 or 3 yards away, in my case just enough space to pass the ball before being clattered again.

Having said that Zola executed it well didn't he!

If you watch the goal in real time you can see it was just a jammy miskick. If football was all about missing the ball with one foot only for it to ricochet off the other, I'd be world footballer of the decade. No wonder he looked so embarrassed.

Sounds a bit harsh to me Dread, I thought he meant it mesell like.

There's no way that goal was "accidental" - it was quite deliberate and bloody brilliant.
