Here we go again! - 13/01/2002 (Nicos Dabizas Website)

Winning Leeds was important as it brought us back to the top of the table. It was a fair result and no one can deny that. Although we conceived a goal in the first minute we managed to dominate the game and after the first five minute there was only one team at the field. Leeds had only one good chance in the second half, but Given's reaction was excellent. We played very well and I think our performance was excellent. After the 0-1 we all went forward to create the chances for the equaliser. Leeds players could not follow our game and the only thing they could do to stop us was foul. That explains why there were so many bookings.

I received a yellow card myself, but apart from that I am very happy with my performance. I believe I did what it was necessary for my team to win. I really wanted us to win, as the game was in a way special for me, after what happened when we played Leeds away. I was very happy at the end of the game for preventing Viduka from scoring. I think the best reply to anyone challenging you is given by a good performance, while playing.

Our fans helped us very much. They did not stop encouraging us even when we were a goal behind. I would like to dedicate the win to them and promise that we will all continue our efforts to stay at the top of the table.

Nikos Dabizas gives everything. Personally i think there are few at the club to touch him for being a top pro. Remember that game against Dundee when Gullit subbed him after 22 minutes? That represents a pretty damn hot comeback i reckon.

I love Nikos. He always gives his all. And you get the feeling he loves playing for us and really wants us to do well. All his interviews are very positive.

perhaps this kind of attitude is now typical of the squad and hence the change in fortune??

Nik is an ace defender on his day, and I like him a lot for his attitude in playing for the Lads. However, I will like him a lot more if he can iron out his tendency to drop a 40lb clanger every game.

i was at that Dundee Utd game and he deserved to be subbed !!

O'Brien and Distin every time for me. If you watch a video of every free header conceded in the last four years, Dabizas can be seen getting an even better view. A nice enough bloke but not one of the best two centre halves on our books.

Dabs had a great spell after coming back from injury but has been dropping some bollox just lately. It has to be said that a lot of his errors have gone unpunished. Incidentally, in last week's interview, he was whinging about the press blaming him for the first Man Utd goal and said that Distin had admitted that it was his fault. If Robert had made a statement like that, we'd be talking about "collective responsibility" etc. Still love Dabs, though.
