Temporarily audio sync problems

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hi!

When i burn mpeg to vcd everything works fine. Quality is perfect and when i watch the movie on computer audio sync is ok.

BUT sometimes while watching the vcd on a dvd-player (scott), i have strange sync problems - the movie suddenly goes slower or faster and returns to the correct audio after a few seconds. When i rewind the film a few seconds and play the scene again everything is okay.

Does somebody know a solution for that strange problem?

Thx, Laura

Tried another DVD player? My Pioneer 301K sometimes pixelates on certain spots in the VCD but on playing the same spot later it's okay. I was told it's time to clean the laser lens.

Hi ! I've heard about this Problem. You should Multiplex the Mpg-File as a VCD (with Tmpgenc e.g.) before you burn it on CD. This procedure should eleminate these Timing Problems.

Muliplexing video didn't change anything. I had the same problem after multiplexing with tmpgenc.

Possibly it's a problem of the scott-player and i have to buy a new one...

Thanks for your help, Laura
