What do you think about having this place opened up? Like it, hate it, indifferent? Do you think I should lock the doors and hide the wimmin, or is OK this way for now?

Kinda indifferent really, I guess that could change when/if that (?) special someone decides to be an asshole vandal.Let it fly bro, if TSHTF change it back.Just my 2¢.

If, as you say, it is possible to switch back to password protection using the same password at any point, then I have no objections. Like Sr. y Gasset, I am somewhat protected by my non de plume. If more ISP-gathering bots or malicious scripts show up, then you know what to do, I presume.

Given how our participation seems to be vanishing, it seems we could use more customers. I say let it ride open. Can always go back. Besides, I'm sick of typing the damn password 2 or 3 times a day.

It's worth a try but if the troll(s) come back, then I hope we can return to password. It was intolerably bad before the password protection was introduced. Sorry it's a lot of hassle Unk.

This is the only ‘discussion forum’ that I take the time to post to. I’ve contributed a couple of times on the Host Board WWW but that is about it. I do enjoy looking in on Olson’s freak show now and then as the entertainment value is exceedingly high, but I’ve never registered there for obvious reasons.

I miss the great give-n-go that occurs when the barn doors are left open, so to speak. This place is starting to get a little stale and that is no reflection on you regular posters, just my call on the lack of spirit. I know for a fact that LL was not responsible for the last round of crap and hopefully, the ‘real’ perp(s) have moved on to greener pastures.

Personally, I would enjoy a return to those Wild Wild West days.

Since it only takes a minute to change from password to non-password, and back, why not? Only thing is, how will you let the people who didn't want to do the password forum know it is now open? Leave a post on the old board? It has been peaceful, but then that's my speed these days. I am going to regret being ca;lled all kinds of abusive names, I have allowed myself to be more open here, I trust the people who have been allowed in, but hey, I'll get over it.

-- Cherri (jessam5@home.com), January 15, 2002.

Unk,

Go with it. If you have to reinstate the password, so be it.

Cherri,

I can call you some abusive names, if you like.

How about ... you ... you SEAHAWKS fan, you!!! :)

I hope Al-D The Rappin MC Jammin With JC comes back, I miss him. Never understood why he was afraid to give Unk an email address, I think he was using a real one anyawy.

Wide open is ok with me unk. No need to hide us wimminfolk. I think most of us wimmin can pretty well defend ourselves, if ya know what I mean-LOLOL!

Run it!

-- Carlos (riffraff@cybertime.net), January 16, 2002.

FYI, al-d was sent the password. Perhaps we have shown ourselves unworthy of salvation.

-- Uncle Deedah (unkeeD@yahoo.com), January 16, 2002.

I think what you've done Unk is okey dokey. Let it be until the troll returns. I think I can remember the password... what was it now... hmmm that old age thing.

-- Maria (anon@ymous.com), January 16, 2002.

It's kinda nice not having to type the password every time. I like it. =O)

IMHO, this thread on another board shows how to handle trolls:

CyberSoapBox

Hope this link works. A great amount of multi-national people post here.
